I found the Best Socks ever! Bombas!

I don’t do many endorsements, but recently I decided to try Bombas socks. You know the ads on TV – they donate a pair for every paid sold. So at least with my splurge for me, I am also helping someone else at the same time.

I was tired of short ankle height socks – I like knee high socks, especially in winter to help keep my legs warm. I also should wear compression socks, which I do part of the time anyway. I wasn’t happy with anything I found in stores locally, so I decided to research some of the more exotic socks on line.

I looked at Pacas socks, but they weren’t quite what I wanted. Crew socks, but no knee highs.

So I went to Bombas website. Lots of different sock styles, for all kinds of different activities. Pretty colors. Some even from Merino wool. Guaranteed to be comfortable, “100% happiness guarantee”, per their website. I found the site to be helpful with all kinds of questions answered in the FAQ, including how to wash and dry their socks. Per their instructions these socks will have minimal shrinkage the first time washed, and then they will never shrink again. And you can email the Customer Happiness Team any time with questions or comments.

Since underwear and socks are something we all wear, every day pretty much (at least up north), I decided to splurge and try a few pair. I got some ladies regular knees highs [ care per their website:

“74% Merino Wool, 23% Polyester, 3% Spandex Machine wash cold on gentle cycle, mild detergent, do not bleach, tumble dry low, do not dry clean or iron.”]

and a pair of compression socks to try. Not as tight of compression as my more medical grade compression socks, but enough to help (15-20 mmHg).

These are no cheap socks – and yes, quite expensive on the surface. But when was the last time you bought a bra ladies? Some of them go $40-50! But I don’t mind paying more for something that is comfortable, and it’s something I will wear probably daily for a couple years, if not longer. The cost per wearing goes way down (and same with a costly bra or anything else that is pricey, but well worn and loved).

And one other pet peeve I have – none of those annoying plastic things securing all the socks together or to the label. I hate trying to cut the plastic without damaging the product (and I have been know to snip socks along with cutting off the plastic tab doohickey running through all the pairs to secure them from stealing fingers).

And both of the styles I ordered are sooooo comfortable! Soft! no annoying seams hitting my toes!! The knee highs fit my calves, even the one slightly swollen with my varicose veins. They don’t slide down, and yes, a very small amount of shrinkage when I washed them. I elected to air dry on my rack even though instructions indicated the socks could be dried in the dryer on low.

I plan to buy some of the heavier compression socks (20-30mmHg) and see how they hold up. I mean, I really LOVE these socks!!

So here’s a gift for you – time to splurge on yourself or your family for something you wear all the time.
